Description	Zaterdagnacht, na de vergadering in Malacatos, heb ik in het huisje geslapen. Dat leek me een goed idee om minstens een keer te doen. Je merkt dat sommige dingen anders zijn dan je had verwacht. Bijvoorbeeld, de zon is allang op als die achter ons huisje boven de bergen te voorschijn komt. Dus de eerste zonnestralen of de zonsopgang zie je nooit vanaf ons huisje. Tussen zonsopgang en dat je de zon kunt zien zit al gauw meer dan een uur. Zie vooral het eerste deel van de foto's, die zijn tussen 7.45 en 8.15 gemaakt. En al snel nadat de zon zichtbaar wordt klimt die natuurlijk omhoog, het is tenslotte de evenaar, dus de zon zit de rest van de dag 'ergens boven je hoofd', met daardoor vanaf een uur of acht tot een uur of twee vóór zonsondergang weinig zonnestralen die in het huis komen (In de EXIF informatie is dat de Capture Date, niet de Created Date). Iets anders zijn de geluiden. Er waren heel wat krekels, maar er was één krekel of soortgelijk insect dat geluid maakte alsof het een halve meter groot was. En om één uur en drie uur 's nachts was er een haan die blijkbaar dacht dat de zon al aan het opgaan was. En af en toe gingen de honden bij de buren te keer. Ik weet het, 's nachts is het stiller, dus iemand zou kunnen denken dat het overdag meer opvalt omdat je dan meer 'achtergrondruis' hebt, maar dat is het niet. Overdag hoor ik gewoon geen enkele hond (behalve als je te dicht bij ze in de buurt komt) en geen enkele haan. Misschien omdat het in september een van de warmste maanden is, en die dieren dus liever 's nachts actief zijn. In ieder geval, het zal vast wel wennen. Het is weer eens iets anders dan het snelweggeluid dat je vaak in Nederland hoort. Wat grandioos is, is de sterrenhemel. De melkweg? Nou, die is hier wel heel makkelijk te zien. En wat een prachtige sterren! Als je leest dat Abraham (terwijl hij nog kinderloos was en hij en zijn vrouw op hoge leeftijd), verteld wordt dat door iemand uit zijn nageslacht ale volken der aarde gezegend zullen worden, en dat zijn nageslacht als de sterren der hemel zal zijn, dan begrijp je hier veel beter wat dat betekent dan in Nederland met alle 'lichtverontreiniging'. Prachtig! De landelijke sfeer is ook op een andere manier merkbaar. De eigenaar van de koeien in de buurt doet niet veel moeite ze op zijn land te houden, dus de koeien blokkeren af en toe de weg, zoals toen ik naar Malacatos zou rijden om Henri en Piedad op te halen, of ze komen op ons landje om wat groen te eten. Ja, behalve een huisje en een auto hebben we ook hulp. Zo gaat Henri (spreek uit Genri) een mango- en papaya-boom en advocadoplanten planten, en nog kijken naar een vijgeboom. En zijn vrouw, Piedad, kan Karin hier helpen net zoals dat nu in Nederland ook gebeurt met de PGB regeling (daar hadden we al contact over gehad, en dat is gelukkig mogelijk). Ik heb een mobiele telefoon gekocht en die haar in bruikleen gegeven, zodat Karin af en toe alvast wat contact met haar kan hebben, want het is de bedoeling dat ze nu al begint met eenmaal per week een aantal dingen te doen. Zoals alle spullen uitpakken en luchten in de 'schuur' de week nadat het ijzerwerk daarvan geschilderd is, en het 'ontsmetten' van vooral het stuur van de auto, want de bekleding ruikt zo goed als niet, maar het stuur en een beetje de handrem ruiken sterk naar aftershave. Het stuur was nog erger, maar gelukkig zat er zo'n soort hoes omheen die er af kon. Dus, elke week soppen en boenen en 'ontsmetten' op dat stuur, zodat het hopelijk aardig veilig is over ruim twee maanden. Dat betekent dat alle belangrijke dingen zo'n beetje gelukt zijn: heel veel details i.v.m. het huisje, de schuur, de meeste spullen gevonden en gekocht zoals allerlei kleine huishoudelijke dingen (emmers, bezems, toiletpapier, zeeppompjes, enz., enz.), grotere spullen zoals een zit-ligbank en een bed met matras, die volgende week in de schuur worden gezet om alvast te luchten; witgoed zoals wasmachine en koelkast en gasstel-met-oven voor de buitenkeuken uitgezocht, die geplaatst worden zodra het huisje afgesloten kan worden; auto; en iemand om Karin te helpen. Al met al is het geweldig goed gegaan deze twee weken!
