Description Helaas nog steeds niet lekker op donderdag 24 april afscheid genomen van Keith en familie, en ik dacht het goed geregeld te hebben met de taxi naar het vliegveld, veertig minuten rijden. Want de taxichauffeur en zijn auto toen ik naar Loja ging waren veilig, dus heb ik hem gebeld via zijn visitekaartje om me op te komen halen. Nou, blijkbaar is het geen eenmansbedrijfje, want er stond iemand anders op de stoep, en dat was meteen duidelijk, man en auto roken verschrikkelijk sterk naar ambientales en meer. Maar ja, over een uur moest ik op het vliegveld zijn... Maar het was echt erg. Ik heb meteen het raam opengedaan en heb zover mogelijk uit het raam gehangen tijdens de rit naar de binnenstad van Loja, waar hij nog een paar klanten op zou halen. Want met vier klanten is het 5 dollar per persoon, dat is de manier daar. Ik omdat ik al beroerd was, was het nu echt niet uit te houden. Dat zag de chauffeur ook, dat ik er niet bepaald goed uitzag, en ik voelde me steeds erger worden. Dus voordat hij stopte bij de volgende klanten hoorde ik hem over de mobilofoon praten over mij, en dat ik niet verder met hem mee kon. Dat ging ook niet. Ik ben niet eerder zo slecht geweest van luchtjes. Meteen toen hij stopte ben ik uitgestapt, hem gezegd 'niet aanraken' zodat ik mijn spullen zelf wel uit de kofferbak zou halen, alles op de stoep neergezet en erbij gaan zitten, ziek. Toen de anderen er waren en ingestapt wilde hij weer wegrijden en moest nog even wachten op langsrijdende auto's, dus ik nog snel opgestaan en hem gevraagd of ik het goed had dat er zometeen een taxi voor mij zou komen. Nee hoor, hij had me gewoon gedropt. Nou, goed dat ik dat wist, er reden net drie taxi's langs die ook moesten stoppen, de voorste van de drie was leeg, en na mijn neus er in gestoken te hebben die meteen kunnen nemen. Dat had slechter kunnen aflopen, anders was ik daar een half uur op de stoep blijven zitten in afwachting van een niet-bestelde andere taxi. Maar ook dat weer geleerd, niet bestellen (of er duidelijk bij vertellen...), maar je neus erin steken en weigeren als ze slecht zijn. Goed, de vlegreis ging okee, 's avonds inderdaad minder luchtjes dan 's ochtends, en deze keer met Icaro i.p.v. Tame, die is iets minder modern, hun vliegtuigen zijn minder snel, kost 10 dollar minder (70 ipv 80), en bij aankomst ben je na stilstand binnen twee minuten het vliegtuig uit, lekker snel. En ondertussen zijn de foto's van vrijdag 25 april in Quito, ook weer meest rondkijken, vooral in het warenhuis Ferrisariato. Dat heeft eenzelfde filiaal in Guayaquil, dus daar is eventueel alles ook te koop en goedkoop af te leveren in Loja. Een flinke winkel, ze hebben 'alles'. Allerlei spullen zoals gereedschap en 'alle' onderdelen voor een huis, tiunachtige tafels en stoelen, paviljoenen, Sanitair, alle soorten plastic emmers en schoonmaakartikelen, verf, tegels, huishoudelijk, kleding, eten en drinken, gigantische hoeveelheden (duur) speelgoed, enz. Zelfs een filiaaltje van Western Union, om geld af te halen of te versturen. Nu, verder niet zo veel te melden, vandaag zaterdag de 26e voor het eerst weer bijna in orde, een beetje gerecupereerd en o.a. deze verslagjes gemaakt. Het einde van de reis is in zicht. Morgen ga ik met Reginald & Arlene mee naar de nieuwe zaal die morgen officieel in gebruik wordt genomen, ze hebben drie jaar in een gehuurde zaal vergaderd en deze zaal is in twee maanden gebouwd en ziet er van buiten en binnen prima uit. En na morgen is het maandag, en vlieg ik in de avond weer terug. Eerst Atlanta, daar kom ik om 5.55 in de ochtend aan en vertrek pas weer ruim elf uur later, en wegens het tijdverschil ben ik dan woensdagochtend 8.10 uur op Schiphol. Misschien hierna nog één fotoserie, anders tot ziens in NL! Oh ja, nog even: De laatste foto zul je in Nederland niet veel zien. Voor 150 dollar per maand (je kunt ook kopen) heb je een nieuw huis met dubbele woon-eetkamer, keuken en bijkeuken, kleine tuin en autoplek, drie slaapkamers en natuurlijk dubbel toilet in een afgesloten en bewaakte kleine wijk net ten Noorden van Quito. Voor die dag en nacht bewaking, samen met water en verzorging van de tuin, dus drie services, betaal je 50 dollar per maand. Als je een aantal maanden niet betaald hebt loop je kans dat je water wordt afgesloten en de tuin niet meer wordt gedaan. En nog even twee: De bewaker, hoorde ik net, had gevraagd of ik familie van ze was. Nee, hij is ook een Testigo, ook een Getuige. Maar ze kenden mij toch al wel langer dan? Nee, ik was volkomen onbekend voor ze, ze hadden me nog niet eerder gezien of van me gehoord. De bewaker kon het niet begrijpen. Want, vanmorgen waren ze weggegaan en omdat ik nog bezig was weer gezond te worden was ik thuis gebleven. En op een gegeven moment had ik o.a. mijn voeten gewassen en ging naar buiten om in het voortuintje zittend mijn nagels bij te knippen, met de voordeur open omdat ik geen sleutel had, en na een paar minuten ging ik weer naar binnen. Hoe was het mogelijk dat ze mij vertrouwden door mij alleen thuis te laten! Tja... Oké, hele hartelijke groetjes weer, en veel liefs voor Karin en anderen!
